Akkayyapalem NGO's Colony Residents' Welfare Association... Potnuru Venkata Krishna Rao Appointed as New President

Akkayyapalem: A meeting of the residents and committee members of the Visakhapatnam NGO's Colony Residents' Welfare Association (RWA) was held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM within the premises of the GVMC High School in Akkayyapalem, Visakhapatnam.

Approximately 30 residents participated in this meeting and discussed various topics related to the formation of the association, coordination with civic authorities, expansion of membership, and future welfare and development initiatives within the NGO's Colony.

To represent the interests of the residents and to facilitate coordination with civic authorities regarding public issues, the general body meeting unanimously approved a proposal to formally register the 'Residents' Welfare Association' (RWA)—functioning as an NGO—in accordance with the relevant provisions of the 'Societies Registration Act.'

The members also approved the formation of a Governing Body/Executive Committee comprising the following members: Ch. Ramakrishna, Ch. Vijayakumari, K. Jagadeeswara Rao, P. Narsinga Rao, K. Rama Rao, K.V. Sharma, K. Dilli Rao, and P.  N. Srinivasa Rao, M. Ramachandra Rao, and V. S. L. Narasimham—the following Executive Committee members were unanimously nominated/elected:

President: Potnuru Venkata Krishna Rao; Vice President: P. V. Ramana Murthy; Secretary: S. Ravi Kumar; Joint Secretary: K.Yogendra Prasad; Treasurer: R. V. Chandrasekhar Rao. This meeting authorized the Executive Committee members to complete all formalities related to the registration of the Association, submit necessary documents, hold consultations with officials, and undertake other activities pertaining to the management and administration of the Association.

To ensure broad-based participation and representation of residents within the Association, the members resolved to undertake a comprehensive membership enrollment drive covering all roads, lanes, apartment complexes, and residential houses within NGGOs Colony.

During the discussions, the participants emphasized the need for a coordinated effort to improve civic amenities, sanitation, sewage systems, roadways, street lighting, environmental protection, public health, and the overall welfare of the residents. The Association reiterated its commitment to working towards the collective development and welfare of the residents of NGGOs Colony in a manner that is transparent, inclusive, apolitical, and dedicated to the best interests of the community.

Gratitude was expressed to all residents and members for their active participation and support.  Members of the association and others participated in this program.
