Allavaram- Indian News Times -Acting on the instructions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District SP Rahul Meena, Shaik Shabaz Ahmed—Deputy Superintendent of Police and SHO of the Amalapuram Women's Police Station—conducted a special awareness program on women's safety for students at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Girls' Residential School in Godi village, Allavaram Mandal. Speaking on the occasion, Shaik Shahbaz Ahmed raised awareness among female students about issues such as online fraud, cybercrimes committed via social media, harassment against women, fake calls, OTP scams, and QR code scams. He advised them not to share personal details, OTPs, or sensitive information in response to calls, messages, or links from strangers and urged women to remain vigilant against crimes like fake social media accounts, photo morphing, and blackmailing.
He recommended using strong passwords and two-factor authentication on mobile phones. He instructed that complaints regarding cyber fraud should be immediately reported to the cyber helpline number 1930 and advised every woman to download the government's 'Shakti' app for safety. He explained that the SOS feature within the Shakti app allows for immediate police assistance during emergencies. He also suggested utilizing the 181 helpline for women's safety, Dial-112 for emergency services, and the services of 'SHE Teams' and the police. Allavaram Sub-Inspector (SI) Sampath Kumar, the Residential School Principal, and female students participated in the event.
