Visakhapatnam Indian News Times:On Wednesday, June 17, 2026:, BJP Visakhapatnam District President Sri Parashurama Raju paid a courtesy call to Smt. K. Roshini Aparanji (IAS), Deputy Chairperson of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust Authority, and Sri M. Shankar Babu, Secretary of the Port Trust Authority.

During the meeting, they held extensive discussions on various issues facing the city's residents as well as key matters regarding the port's development. Sri Parashurama Raju specifically drew the officials' attention to the problem of coal and other cargo dust drifting into the city—particularly during the summer—due to wind intensity, noting that this causes severe respiratory issues for local residents and motorists.

He urged the authorities to implement measures to control pollution, such as installing high-jet sprinklers in the port vicinity, expanding the green belt (plantation), and further strengthening the mechanized coal handling system.

Deputy Chairperson Smt. K. Roshini Aparanji responded very positively to the issues raised by the BJP leaders. Emphasizing that the health and well-being of the city's residents are a priority, she assured them that appropriate preventive measures to curb dust emissions within the port premises would be implemented immediately.  BJP District General Secretaries Srirangam Dhaneshwara Rao and Dadi Purushotham Ramesh, senior BJP leaders Polimera Srinivasa Rao and J. Damodar Yadav, BJP District Social Media Convener G. Rakesh, and others participated in this program. Visakhapatnam.
