Encouragement for Talent" on the 28th: 'Kalajeeva' Awards for National and International Artists; Media Awards for 60 Recipients
Visakhapatnam: Indian News Times:26 June 2026,Committee Chairmen Gantla Srinubabu and R. Nagaraju Patnaik announced that the "Encouragement for Talent" (Prathibhaku Prothsaham) event is being organized on the 28th of this month under the aegis of the School of Theatre Arts and the Vizag Media Awards Committee to honor national and international artists and media professionals. Speaking at a press conference held at the VJF Press Club on Friday, they stated that the event would take place at the VMRDA Children's Arena in Siripuram, starting at 9:00 AM on Sunday, featuring performances by international artists from Sri Lanka, Gujarat, Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
They added that awards would be presented to 60 media representatives and 35 artists, while merit scholarships would be given to the children of 150 journalists. Performances by globally acclaimed artists—such as Shreyasha and Rakesh Prajapati (Anand, Gujarat), Veronica Kamani Dashanayaka (Sri Lanka), the Alif Squad Team (Bangladesh), *Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs* finalist Mahans Sai Reddy (Hyderabad), Limca Book of Records holder Janaki Reddy (Visakhapatnam), and the group comprising R.H. Tina, G. Dimple, and B. Poojitha (Visakhapatnam)—will serve as the event's special attractions.
"Lifetime [Achievement Award]" for Kamal Baid "Achievement Award"
It was announced that the 'Lifetime Achievement Award 2026' would be presented to Dr. Kamal Baid, a prominent social activist and leader of the International Walkers Club, who has received numerous national and international awards both at home and abroad. Similarly, the 'Electronic Media Legend Award' will be conferred upon Kurra Vijay Kumar—a City Cable news presenter and executive producer who, nearly two and a half decades ago (even before modern technical facilities were available), delivered high-quality news updates to the residents of Visakhapatnam through the program 'Nagara Darshini'. Brahma Kumari Rameshwari, Veronica Kamani Dassanayake (Sri Lanka), Shreyasha, and Rakesh Prajapati (Gujarat) participated in this press conference. A poster promoting talent encouragement was also unveiled on this occasion.
