Festive Atmosphere at 'Yogandhra' Event in Upamaka* *Home Minister Anitha, MP CM Ramesh, and Collector Vijaya Krishnan Perform Yoga*
Nakkapalli Indian News Times:June 17: The 'Yogandhra' program held on Wednesday at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple premises in Upamaka, Nakkapalli Mandal, took place in a festive atmosphere. State Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, Anakapalli MP CM Ramesh, and District Collector Vijaya Krishnan participated in the event and performed yoga asanas.
A large number of people, students, and officials also took part and practiced yoga. Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha expressed her happiness at performing yoga at the Upamaka Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple. She described yoga as a magnificent ancient heritage gifted by India to the world and noted that the country stands as a global guide in the field of yoga.
She remarked that International Yoga Day has gained worldwide recognition thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and it is a matter of pride for India that many nations have now incorporated yoga into their daily lives. She observed that in today's world, everyone—from children to the elderly, and students to employees—faces mental stress, and yoga acts as a boon in such situations.
She urged everyone to make yoga a part of their daily routine and dedicate some time each day to its practice, emphasizing that a healthy and happy life is achievable through yoga. Subsequently, Home Minister Anitha and MP CM Ramesh felicitated sportswoman Nammi Geetha Srinu, who won a bronze medal while representing the Indian team at the Hockey Asia Cup held in Japan. Commending her sporting talent, they expressed the hope that
she would achieve further success in the future and bring greater renown to both the state and the country. Several public representatives, officials, athletes, and yoga practitioners participated in the event.
