Five-Day Faculty Development Programme on Agentic AI, Cyber Security & Quantum Computing Inaugurated at St. Joseph’s College for Women (A)

VisakhapatnamIindian news Times, June 8, 2026: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam, in collaboration with Edunet Foundation under the IBM Visakhapatnam CSR initiative, inaugurated a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Agentic AI, Cyber Security, and Quantum Computing on Monday.
The inaugural session commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, marking the formal beginning of the programme. Dr. Sr. Hema, Vice Principal, welcomed the guests and participants. The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Sudha.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Laliteswari, Key Account Manager, IBM, addressed the gathering and emphasized the growing importance of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and Quantum Computing in shaping the future of education and industry. She highlighted the need for faculty members to continuously upgrade their skills and knowledge to prepare students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The resource person, Mr. Aswini Kumar Motapothula, introduced the objectives of the FDP and spoke about the transformative impact of Agentic AI, Cyber Security, and Quantum Computing on teaching, research, and innovation. He encouraged faculty members to explore these emerging domains and integrate them into academic practices.
A total of 120 faculty members from various departments participated in the programme with great enthusiasm. The FDP aims to provide participants with cutting-edge knowledge, practical exposure, and industry insights in the emerging technology domains.
According to Dr. P. K. Jayalakshmi, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the college, the programme is expected to enhance the professional competencies of faculty members and strengthen their capacity to contribute effectively to academic excellence and innovation
