*Foundation Stone Laid for Construction of Road Over Bridge between Namburu and Mangalagiri Stations*

Visakhapatnam: Indian News Times:June 17, 2026:The Foundation Stone for the construction of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) in lieu of Level Crossing No.14 between Namburu and Mangalagiri stations on the Guntur–Vijayawada section was laid today at Mangalagiri. The programme was graced by Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications; Shri Nara Lokesh, Hon'ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Real Time Governance and Human Resources Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh; Shri Alapati Rajendra Prasad, Hon’ble Member of Andhra Pradesh legislative Council; Smt. Sudeshna Sen, Divisional Railway Manager, Guntur Division; and Shri Simon, Chief Project Manager, Gati Shakti Unit, along with other dignitaries, elected representatives, senior railway officials and members of the public.

The proposed ROB is being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹142 Crores, fully funded by Indian Railways, with the objective of enhancing safety for both rail and road users, easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity in the rapidly developing Amaravati–Mangalagiri region.

Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of modern transport infrastructure in supporting regional growth and ensuring seamless mobility for the public. The project will eliminate delays caused by closure of the existing level crossing gate and facilitate uninterrupted movement of vehicular traffic.

The Road Over Bridge is expected to significantly improve road-rail connectivity, enhance operational efficiency and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
