Homoeopathic Research Institute for Disabilities, Chennai Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India Homoeopathic Wellness Kits Distributed to Scheduled Caste Beneficiaries at Kovalam Panchayat
Chennai:Indian News Times:8th June 2026 The Homoeopathic Research Institute for Disabilities (HRID), Chennai, functioning under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, New Delhi, and located on the campus of the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD), East Coast Road, Muttukadu, Chennai, organised the free distribution of Homoeopathic Wellness Kits for the Scheduled Caste community at the Kovalam Village Panchayat Office on 8th June 2026.
The programme was conducted under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) on the directions of Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General, CCRH, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, New Delhi. Under this scheme, a total of 1,000 Homoeopathic Wellness Kits, each valued at approximately Rs. 1,000, are being distributed free of cost to 1,000 Scheduled Caste beneficiaries. The kits are expected to be of great benefit to economically weaker families in managing common acute health problems.
Mrs. Sobhana Thangam, President, Kovalam Panchayat, attended the programme as Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the distribution of Wellness Kits to the Scheduled Caste beneficiaries of Kovalam Panchayat village.
Dr. Kolli Raju, Consultant Homoeopathy, HRID Chennai, and Assistant Director (RTD), CCRH, addressed the gathering and explained the purpose, theme and concept of the scheme and its benefits to patients.
Dr. D. Karthikeyan, Officer-in-Charge, HRID Chennai, explained the correct usage of the 17 Homoeopathic medicines provided in the Wellness Kits.
Dr. Venmani and Dr. Maha Lakshmi of HRID Chennai, associated with the SCSP programme, also participated in the event.
Nearly 60 persons, including the outsourcing staff of Kovalam Village Panchayat, benefited from the programme.
