International Yoga Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar*

The 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Visakhapatnam. The programme was conducted from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., with active participation from students of Classes VIII, IX and X.


Held with the divine blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the event featured Smt. D.V.S. Padmaleela, Certified Heartfulness Meditation Trainer and holder of a PG Diploma in Yoga from Andhra University, as the Special Guest . 


Sri PRSN Naidu, Member of the school Governing body, Principal Smt. Ch. Varalakshmi & staff encouraged the students.


The students enthusiastically demonstrated Nadi Shodhana Pranayama, Shambhavi Mudra, Surya Namaskar, and several seated and standing yoga postures, showcasing remarkable discipline, flexibility, and concentration.


Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries highlighted that yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a holistic way of life that promotes harmony of body, mind, and spirit. They emphasized that regular yoga practice can help individuals overcome various physical and mental challenges and lead healthier, more balanced lives.


The school management stated that yoga is being taught regularly as part of the co-curricular programme to help students improve memory, enhance concentration, reduce examination stress, build self-confidence, and develop discipline and emotional well-being.

The programme concluded successfully in an atmosphere of enthusiasm, positivity, and commitment to healthy living.
