Visakhapatnam Indian News Times Today, i.e., on 04.06.2026, Dr. P. Jagadeeswara Rao, District Medical and Health Officer, Visakhapatnam, visited the Anandapuram Primary Health Centre (PHC) and the Vemulavalasa Village Health Centre (VHC). He conducted a review covering various aspects, including EHR implementation, the e-Aushadhi system, deliveries, laboratory tests, availability of medicines, ABHA ID registrations, the status of hospital services accessed via IVRS (to gauge public perception), KPI indicators, and FRS-based attendance. He issued directives stating that all Medical Officers and paramedical staff must remain available to the public at the health centers. In view of the severe summer heat, he ordered that ORS packets be made available at all Village Secretariats, Anganwadi centers, NREGS worksites, and locations where major construction activities are underway.
He further suggested that awareness be created among the public regarding the precautions to be taken during the summer season. Additionally, to prevent potential outbreaks of epidemic diseases, he directed that all water facilities and water supply pipelines within the jurisdiction of the PHC be inspected frequently. It was mandated that the HPV vaccine be compulsorily administered to eligible girls aged 14. Instructions were issued to raise public awareness regarding the "Public Perception" initiative undertaken by the Government of Andhra Pradesh; furthermore, a warning was issued stating that appropriate action would be taken against specific facilities should any negative feedback be received through this public perception mechanism. Congratulations were extended to the Anandapuram Primary Health Centre for securing the first rank at the state level for the month of April.
Dr. B. Umavati (DPMO), the Health Centre's medical officers—Dr. Shakina Bhanu and Dr. Shehanaz Begum—and the staff members participated in this visit.
