Visakhapatnam Indian News Times -Dr Zaheer Ahmed described P.V. Narasimha Rao as a visionary leader who assumed the role of Prime Minister during challenging times, initiated economic reforms, and altered the trajectory of India's development.
Dr. Zaheer Ahmed attended the 105th birth anniversary celebrations of P.V. Narasimha Rao—organized by K.V. Sharma, head of the *Visakha Sandesham* newspaper—as the chief guest at the Vivekananda Ashram in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Journalists including Konatala Srinivasa Rao, V.S. Jaganmohan, Raghavendra Mishra, N. Ravishankar, Dhavaleswarapu Ravikumar, N. Arun Bhaskar (Hari), Kapil Agarwal, and Suryaprakash participated in the event. The proceedings began with the garlanding of P.V. Narasimha Rao’s portrait and the paying of floral tributes; Dr. Zaheer Ahmed then cut a cake in the presence of the elderly residents of the ashram. Subsequently, fruits, bread, and blankets were distributed to the elderly, and the event concluded with the distribution of meals to approximately one hundred destitute individuals.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zaheer Ahmed lauded Bharat Ratna P.V. Narasimha Rao for his immense contribution to the nation's development through the implementation of numerous reforms during his tenure as Prime Minister and as an economist. Konatala Srinivas remarked that it is a matter of pride for all that P.V. Narasimha Rao—renowned as a statesman and a man of multifaceted genius—was a Telugu person, hailing him as a great leader who transformed the course of India's development.
