Seminar and Poets' Gathering Held by Hindi Sahitya Bharati International (Andhra Pradesh) on World Environment Day

 


Visakhapatnam, June 5, 2026 :A seminar and a poets' gathering were grandly organized by Hindi Sahitya Bharati International (Andhra Pradesh) to mark World Environment Day. The event commenced with *Saraswati Vandana* and prayers.

Prof. Dr. P.K. Jayalakshmi, State President of Hindi Sahitya Bharati International (Andhra Pradesh), welcomed the guests, litterateurs, and all participants; she highlighted the importance of environmental conservation alongside the development of the Hindi language. Dr. T. Haimavathi efficiently conducted the proceedings.


The keynote speaker, Smt. B. Varija (Hindi Lecturer, Paderu), spoke in detail about Pandit Yugal Kishore Shukla—the pioneer of Hindi journalism—and the historic newspaper he founded, *Udant Martand*. She noted that the foundation he laid for Hindi journalism remains unforgettable. She was introduced by Dr. B. Madhumathi.

The chief guest, Smt. Damaraju Visalakshi, delivered an impactful speech on personality development. She inspired the youth by emphasizing that self-confidence, a positive attitude, discipline, and continuous learning are the cornerstones of success. Her address deeply captivated the audience.  In the poets' gathering that followed, Dr. B. Madhumati, Dr. Shanthi, Dr. Haima, Sri Vasudeva Rao, Smt. Shyamala, Dr. Ramana Murthy, Smt. Radharani, Smt. Swarajya Lakshmi, and others recited poems on themes such as environmental protection, love for nature, water conservation, and green living.


In his address as the distinguished guest, Dr. S. Krishna Babu spoke analytically about the history of Hindi journalism, the social responsibility of literature, and the necessity of environmental protection.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. P.K. Jayalakshmi explained the objectives and activities of 'Hindi Sahitya Bharati International,' as well as the literary and cultural programs it conducts both within the country and abroad. She noted that the organization is making significant efforts to promote the Hindi language and Indian culture. She mentioned that 73 individuals have obtained lifetime membership so far and revealed plans to organize more national and international conferences, poets' gatherings, and literary events in the future.

She also expressed gratitude to Dr. Ravindra Shukla, the National President of Hindi Sahitya Bharati International, praising his vision, guidance, and distinguished service toward the organization's growth.

Finally, Prof. Dr. P.K. Jayalakshmi thanked the guests, speakers, poets, and all the participants. The program concluded successfully with the chanting of the 'Kalyana Mantra.'
