Visakhapatnam: Indian News Times :June 12: The valedictory function of the three-day Soft Skills Workshop organized at the Gayatri Vidya Parishad (GVP) Degree and PG College was held grandly on Friday at the Gayatri Vidya Parishad MVP Campus Auditorium.
At the outset, Dr. Vijayalakshmi, Head of the Department of English, presented the workshop report, highlighting the various sessions conducted over the three days. She elaborated on the skills acquired by the students and the aspects of personality development covered during the workshop. She also introduced the Chief Guest of the occasion, Dr. S. V. Rama Rao, Senior Lecturer in English, Krishna College, Visakhapatnam.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. S. V. Rama Rao emphasized that in today’s competitive world, students must develop not only academic excellence but also essential soft skills such as communication, leadership, time management, and teamwork. He explained that these skills play a vital role in ensuring future success and career growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Pragada Rajaganapathi, Member of Gayatri Vidya Parishad, highlighted the values, academic standards, and opportunities provided by the institution for the holistic development of students. He stressed the importance of soft skills in students’ lives and encouraged them to practice and cultivate these skills regularly.
College Director Mr. D. Giridhar stated that soft skills are crucial for securing employment opportunities and achieving professional success. He advised students to focus continuously on their personal and professional development.
Mr. Shankar served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event. Mrs. Vedavathi delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, management, faculty members, and students whose support contributed to the success of the workshop.
At the conclusion of the programme, certificates were distributed to the students who had participated in the workshop. Faculty members Dr. Soujanya, Dr. Shyamala, Dr. Radhika, Dr. Ilahi, Dr. Anitha, and a large number of students attended the valedictory function.
