ASR Homoeopathic Medical College Principal Dr. Pingali Ananda Kumar Conferred Best Doctor Award – 2026 by Dr. NTR UHS on National Doctors Day

 

Vijayawada,- Indian News Times -1st July 2026: Prof. Dr. Pingali Ananda Kumar,  Principal of ASR Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Tadepalligudem, was today conferred the prestigious Best Doctor Award – 2026 in Homoeopathy by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTR UHS), Vijayawada. The award was presented at the National Doctors Day celebrations held at the University Auditorium, Administrative Block.

The honor was presented in the presence of Sri S. Suresh Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, who was the Chief Guest of the occasion; Justice Sri U. Durga Prasad, Chairman of the High Power Committee; Dr. P. Chandra Sekhar, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. NTR UHS; and Dr. T. Sai Sudheer, Registrar, Dr. NTR UHS.

Dr. Pingali was among ten distinguished doctors drawn from Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Dentistry and Nursing who were felicitated this year. The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to Homoeopathic medical education, clinical excellence, institutional leadership and public health service.

Highlights of the Ceremony

The event began with tributes paid to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, in whose memory National Doctors Day is observed every year on 1st July, marked this year by the unveiling of his statue on the Dr. NTR UHS campus.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Guest observed that a doctor's influence extends far beyond the consulting room, and that success in medicine is measured not in profits but in lives served and suffering relieved, urging doctors to embrace new technology such as AI without losing the human empathy at the heart of the profession.

I dedicate this award to my gurus who taught me Homoeopathy, to the dedicated faculty and students of ASR Homoeopathic Medical College, and to the thousands of patients who have trusted us over the years.

Today, on the birth and death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.C. Roy, I renew my pledge to uphold the dignity of this noble profession. At ASR, we are committed to producing competent, compassionate Homoeopathic physicians who see their social responsibility clearly. This award strengthens our resolve to make Tadepalligudem a center of excellence in Homoeopathic education and research," said Dr. Pingali on receiving the award.

About Dr. Pingali Ananda KumarDr. Pingali took charge as Principal of ASR Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital in July 2025. With over two decades of experience as an academician, clinician and institution-builder, he is currently pursuing his PhD at Lincoln University College, Malaysia. He is recognized internationally as a Homoeopathic consultant with extensive experience in managing complex and critical cases, both in clinic and online.

Under his leadership, ASR has advanced on several fronts, from digital medical education and specialty clinic development to community outreach. Students have secured top university ranks under his guidance, including Ranks 1, 3 and 5 in the final BHMS examinations, while three ASR students were honored at World Homoeopathy Day 2026 in New Delhi for research conducted under CCRH-STSH (Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy – Short Term Studentship in Homoeopathy).

He is the driving force behind the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) curriculum at ASR, and a pioneer in digital learning, including providing every first-year student a personal laptop and access to Elsevier's Complete Anatomy and Hompath Elite.

He is the Founder-Editor of 'Anatomica Homoeopathica' and Editor-in-Chief of 'ASR Lux Scientiae Homoeopaticae', the College's scientific publications.

He is the author of 18 research publications indexed in Web of Science, with focus areas including female infertility, PCOS, cancer pain management, and Homoeopathic approaches to autism and ADHD.

Beyond medicine, he serves as Secretary of the Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust, Pithapuram, and as a Central Committee Member of Sri Viswa Vignana Vidya Adhyathmika Peetham, Pithapuram.
