DEPUTY CHIEF OF THE NAVAL STAFF VISITS VISAKHAPATNAM

:Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (DCNS), visited Visakhapatnam from 05 to 07 Jul 26 to review the operational preparedness and capability development initiatives of the Eastern Naval Command (ENC).During the visit, the DCNS wascomprehensivelybriefedontheCommand’soperationalresponsibilities, force levels and ongoing capability enhancement initiatives. 


He called on Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command and held detailed discussions on operational preparedness, maritime security and future capability development.


The DCNS visited frontline units including INS Agray, INS Dunagiri and INS Mysore to assess their operational capabilities and combat readiness. He interacted with Commanding Officers and ship's personnel, commending their professionalism and dedication. 


He also visited Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) to review the progress of ongoing shipbuilding, refit and maintenance projects, in addition to inspecting key infrastructure development initiatives at ENC. He also addressed and interacted with officers of the Command on specific aspects of Indian Navy Vision 2047, Indian Navy Maritime Doctrine and Indian Navy Maritime Security Strategy.


The visit reaffirmed the Indian Navy’s steadfast commitment to maintaining a high state of combat readiness, advancing indigenous defence capabilities under the aegis of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and strengthening maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region.
