International Multilingual Conference on AI and Language Begins at St. Joseph’s Women’s College


Visakhapatnam: Indian News Times :7 July 2026, A two-day International Multilingual Conference on “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Development of Language and Literature” was inaugurated at St. Joseph’s Women’s College (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam.


Padma Bhushan Prof. Y. Lakshmi Prasad, Chief Guest, said that Artificial Intelligence is not a substitute for human creativity. He emphasized that AI is a powerful tool for preserving and promoting languages, literature, and culture, and called for its ethical and responsible use to protect linguistic diversity and literary heritage for future generations.


Guest of Honour Dr. I. Vijayababu, Principal, V.S. Krishna Government Degree & PG College (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam, said the conference provides an excellent platform to deliberate on the use of AI for the development of languages and literature.

Guest Speaker Yamini K., Senior Software Engineer, Trace.AI, Seattle, USA, highlighted the vast potential of AI in language technology, education, research, translation, and literary studies.


Special Guest Prof. T. Satyanarayana, Godavari Global University, Rajamahendravaram, stressed the need to effectively integrate AI into language teaching, learning, and research while safeguarding human creativity.


Dr. P. K. Jayalakshmi, Convener of the conference, said the event aims to examine AI’s impact on language and literature, discuss its opportunities and challenges, and promote the responsible and ethical use of AI in academia and literary research.
