ISKCON Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra on the 16th of This Month

Visakhapatnam :Indian News Times:13 July2026 , Sambadas Prabhuji, President of the ISKCON Visakhapatnam city branch, announced that the 16th annual Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra—modeled after the Puri tradition—will be celebrated with great grandeur on the 16th of this month under the auspices of ISKCON Sagar Nagar. Speaking at a press conference held at a private hotel in Visakhapatnam on Monday, he explained that the divine deities of Sri Jagannath, Subhadra, and Balabhadra would be placed on three elaborately decorated chariots. The procession will feature auspicious music, Vedic chants, *Kolatam* (traditional stick dance), *Hare Krishna* Mahamantra *Sankirtan*, *Bhajans*, and participants in diverse, colorful costumes.  It was announced that the Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra would commence at the Government Women's College near Central Park and conclude at the Gurajada Kalakshetram in Siripuram, passing through Daba Gardens, Jagadamba, and Ramnagar. ISKCON’s Mataji Nitai Sevini stated that Lord Jagannath—accompanied by Subhadra and Balabhadra—would be enshrined on a specially arranged stage at the Gurajada Kalakshetram; special prayers and rituals would be performed, 1,008 varieties of *Prasadam* would be offered to the deities, and a *Divya Mangala Harati* would be performed using 108 lamps. 


She added that the event would feature spiritual discourses and *Sankirtans*, followed by the distribution of *Anna Prasadam* to every devotee participating in the Rath Yatra. She urged the residents of Visakhapatnam and devotees to participate in this spiritual Rath Yatra organized by ISKCON, seek the Lord's blessings, and make the spiritual festival a grand success.
