Visakhapatnam.. Indian News Times 14 July 2026 .The state executive committee of the Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists' Federation has resolved to observe 'Journalists' Demands Day' on July 31st across all districts to address the issues faced by working journalists. Gantla Srinubabu—Secretary of the National Journalists' Union and a state leader of the Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists' Federation—stated that the committee discussed various pending issues concerning journalists during the state executive meeting held on Tuesday at Balotsava Bhavan in Vijayawada. It was stated that the meeting focused extensively on the issues faced by journalists in the North Andhra districts. The executive committee passed resolutions on six key demands, including the allocation of three cents of housing land to every eligible journalist in the state, the implementation of pension benefits, and the reinstatement of accident insurance
. Gantla Srinubabu explained that the state leadership—including President Venkatrao and Secretary G. Anjaneyulu—responded positively to the issues raised. The committee decided to observe a "Demands Day" across the state on the 31st of this month to highlight these issues and bring them to the government's attention. He mentioned that representations regarding these primary demands would be submitted to District Collectors and public representatives at all district headquarters on that day. Additionally, plans were made to meet Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and other ministers at the Secretariat to submit representations and urge them to resolve the journalists' grievances.
The meeting was attended by executive committee members from districts across the state, as well as State Vice-President B. Eswara Rao, Visakhapatnam Urban President P. Narayana, Deputy General Secretary A. Sambasiva Rao, Vice-President P. Nagesh Babu, Joint Secretary Godaba Rambabu, Broadcast Wing President Irothi Eswara Rao, Secretary Kinthada Madan, Anakapalli District Presidents Venkatesh and Khader, Broadcast Wing Presidents Basha and Hamid, and others.
