Major General G Srinivas, VSM assumed the appointment of General Officer Commanding (GOC), Telangana & Andhra Sub Area (TASA) on 01 July 2026. On assuming command, the General Officer paid homage to the Bravehearts at the War Memorial and laid a wreath in a solemn ceremony.
The officer is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun did his early schooling from Sainik School, Korukonda. He was commissioned into Regiment of Artillery in 1990.
A graduate of National Defence College, the officer is also M Phil in Defence and Security studies and an M Phil in Management Studies. During the career spanning thirty five years, the General Officer has held important Command, Staff and Instructional assignments to include an exposure with United Nations in Democratic Republic of Congo, Military Secretary Branch, Command of a Brigade in Strike Formation, Brigadier Quartermaster of a Corps, Chief Instructor at School of Artillery. As Major General Operational Logistics of a Command in Western Front the officer played a pivotal role in ensuring Operational readiness of the Command during Op SINDOOR.
