Operation RAILPRAHARI: RPF. Visakhapatnam Arrests Four in Armed Train Robbery; Entire Stolen Property Recovered

Visakhapatnam - Indian News Times -3Arrests Four in Armed Train Robbery; Entire Stolen Property RecoveredThe Railway Protection Force (RPF), Visakhapatnam Division, under Operation RAILPRAHARI, in coordination with GRP, Visakhapatnam City Police, and RPF Vijayawada Division, swiftly apprehended four accused involved in an armed robbery aboard Train No. 18464 Prashanthi Express on 2 July 2026.

Following prompt investigation, CCTV analysis, and technical surveillance, the accused were arrested within hours from the Gokul Theatre area of Visakhapatnam. The entire stolen property, comprising ₹43,800 in cash and five mobile phones, was recovered.

The accused and the recovered property were handed over to GRP Tuni, which registered Crime No. 66/2026 under Section 309(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for further investigation. The successful operation reflects the RPF's swift action and effective coordination in ensuring the safety and security of railway passengers.
