Amalapuram: Indian News Times: Dr. Gandham Viswanath, the head of Sai Vishwas Hospitals, announced that doctors at the Amalapuram branch successfully performed three rare surgeries, removing over a thousand stones and providing relief to the patients.
In one case, over a thousand small gallstones were removed, while in another, more than 150 large stones were extracted surgically. Patients suffering from severe gallbladder and kidney-related issues were admitted urgently; after conducting medical tests, doctors determined that surgery was necessary.
Two of these patients were found to have a massive number of gallstones, which were subsequently removed surgically. For another patient, a large, elongated stone—spanning the length of the kidney—was removed using a specialized surgical technique. Doctors stated that the health condition of all the patients is currently stable. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gandham Viswanath expressed concern over the rising incidence of kidney and gallbladder diseases, attributing them to changing dietary habits, inadequate water intake, and unhealthy lifestyles.
He noted that many people reduce their water intake specifically to avoid frequent urination. He suggested that consuming adequate amounts of clean water daily can significantly lower the risk of developing kidney and gallbladder stones and help prevent various health issues. He urged people to adopt healthy habits.
