Visakhapatnam : Indian News Times:In a significant step towards transforming railway infrastructure and enhancing passenger convenience,

Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated 75 redeveloped railway stations across the country under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). Among these, three redeveloped railway stations in Andhra Pradesh—Rayanapadu,

Mangalagiri and Cumbum—were dedicated to the nation following their comprehensive redevelopment.

Redeveloped at a cumulative cost of approximately ₹50 crore, these stations embody the Government of India's vision of creating modern, accessible and passenger-centric railway stations while preserving the unique cultural identity and architectural heritage of their respective regions.

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aims at the holistic redevelopment of railway stations by providing enhanced passenger amenities and modern infrastructure. The upgraded stations feature aesthetically designed station buildings, improved circulating areas, spacious waiting halls, modern toilet facilities,

enhanced platform shelters, digital passenger information systems, energy-efficient lighting, standardized signage and improved multimodal integration. Based on operational requirements and station-specific needs, 12-metre-wide Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) with lift provisions have also been provided to ensure seamless and barrier-free accessibility. The station buildings have been thoughtfully designed by incorporating local art, culture and architectural elements, showcasing the rich heritage of the region.

The redevelopment of these stations is expected to substantially improve the overall travel experience, strengthen regional rail connectivity and provide a boost to tourism, trade and local economic activity.

These modernized stations stand as a testament to Indian Railways' unwavering commitment to developing world-class railway infrastructure and realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat through sustainable and inclusive infrastructure development.
