Amalapuram: Indian News Times :The protest by document writers, assistants, and typists against the privatization of immovable property and asset deed registration services entered its third day. Demanding the withdrawal of GO 396, the writers staged a sit-in protest and raised loud slogans in front of the registration office.
They are striking outside the Amalapuram Sub-Registrar's office to protest against GO No. 396. Senior writer Subbu warned that the strike would continue until the 31st of the month if the government fails to resolve the issue. Mattaparthi Ramu demanded a halt to the privatization of registration services and the renewal of licenses for document writers. Guntu Phani Prasad stated that document writers have been providing registration-related services to buyers and sellers—drawing upon generations of experience—without giving rise to disputes.
They expressed their opposition to the move to abolish the document writer system, which has been in place since the British era. Document writers stated that G.O. 396 would lead to registration delays, a waste of time, and financial losses for the public due to the need to pay additional charges.
The event was attended by Amalapuram Document Writers' Association President Jinnuri Suresh, Secretary Pandiri Hari, Joint Secretary Peddireddy Durgesh, and other document writers, assistants, typists, and association members, including Ganishetti Bogiraju, Adapa Bhushanam, Borra Bujji, Kadali Satyanarayana, Degala Raja, Gopalam, Siripalli Murthy, Pruthvi Srinu, Gummala Naresh, Bandreddi Raju, and K.V. Nagaraju
