**St. Joseph’s College for Women (A) and UGC-MMTTC Successfully Organize 8-Day National Faculty Development Programme on NEP Orientation**

Visakhapatnam:** St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam, in collaboration with the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (UGC-MMTTC) (formerly GAD-TLC), SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi, successfully organized a 8-day National online Faculty Development Programme (FDP). The program focused on the "NEP Orientation and Sensitization Programme" (59th Batch) and ran from July 10 to July 18, 2026. The sessions were conducted daily in the evening from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, drawing a wide range of administrators, teachers, and research scholars from all across India.

The initiative was held under the patronage of the college Principal, Dr. Sr. Shyji P.D. The organizing team from St. Joseph’s College for Women (A) was led by Dr. P. Sarada (Selection Grade Lecturer, Department of Chemistry) and Dr. Aditya Deepthi (In-charge Head, Department of Chemistry).

The 8-day training featured high-profile educational specialists and domain experts who conducted critical, learner-centric sessions aimed at integrating the structural vision of the National Education Policy (NEP):

* **Prof. Ved Prakash** (Mentor, UGC-MMTTC and Former Chairman, UGC, Delhi) delivered insightful sessions on *"NEP Overview; Higher Education and Society"* and *"Skill Development"*.

* **Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Bakhshi** (Founder VC, PDM University and Former Executive Director, Tertiary Education Commission, Mauritius) handled specialized modules on *"Higher Education and Society"*, *"ICT and Learner-Centric Models"*, and *"Skill Development"*.

* **Prof. Vimal Rarh** (Director, UGC-MMTTC / GAD-MMTTC and Professor, Department of Chemistry, SGTB Khalsa College, DU) guided the participants on *"Curriculum Development, Teaching-Learning and Assessment"*.

* **Prof. Arun Julka** (Department of Commerce, Maharaja Agrasen College, Delhi University) trained the educators on *"Practical skills for use of ICT in Teaching & Research"*.

* **Mr. Narendra Kumar Sinha** (IAS, Former Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Govt. of India) spoke on *"Information and Communication Technology"*.

* **Prof. Bibhu Prasad Sahoo** (Head, Department of Business Economics, SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi) presented extensively on *"Research and Development"*.

* **Dr. Shimla** (Former Registrar, J C Bose University of Science and Technology, Faridabad, Haryana) provided key insights into the *"Indian Knowledge Systems"*.

The program successfully equipped educators with modernized frameworks, teaching tools, and an understanding of the ongoing transformations in the Indian higher education sector.
