Amalapuram: Indian News Times:Former Union Minister Chinta Mohan stated that no one from the Kapu community has ever served as Chief Minister, even for a single day, and that the position is attainable for them only through the Congress party. He noted that the Chandrababu Naidu family (19 years) and the YS family (11 years)—both hailing from the Rayalaseema region—have held the Chief Minister's post for a combined total of 30 years. He asserted that Kapus cannot become Chief Minister in the TDP or Jagan's party; only within the Congress party can members of the Kapu and Balija communities ascend to that role. Chinta Mohan recalled how, under the leadership of Mudragada Padmanabham, an Ambedkar statue was installed in the 'Kapu Street' at Kirlampudi, and how they had worked together to foster unity between the Kapu and Dalit communities. He emphasized that just as OBCs and Dalits have moved forward together in North India, the Kapu and Dalit communities in Andhra Pradesh need to progress in a similar manner. He described the political situation in India as chaotic and concerning. Chinta Mohan questioned what Prime Minister Modi had actually achieved during his 12-year tenure, noting that promises to unearth black money and deposit ₹15 lakhs into every household's account were broken. They pointed out the failure to deliver the promised 20 million (2 crore) jobs annually, noting that the unemployed are currently filled with despair and hopelessness. They alleged that funds amounting to thousands of crores of rupees—collected from households, villages, wealthy individuals, and Hindus worldwide in the name of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir—were misappropriated. They demanded a Supreme Court-monitored CBI inquiry into the Ayodhya funds, similar to the investigation conducted regarding the TTD. They also called for a CBI probe into the waiver of ₹16 lakh crore in loans taken by corporates from banks. They criticized the BJP government for ruining the country's foreign policy, noting that while nations across the globe condemned the deaths of 20,000 children, Prime Minister Modi and the Ministry of External Affairs remained silent. They recalled that the price of an LPG cylinder was ₹350 during the Congress regime, whereas it has now risen to ₹1,000; prices of fertilizers, medicines, rice, cooking oil, eggs, and vegetables have also surged. They stated that a situation has arisen where common and middle-class families are unable to afford basic purchases or food. They challenged Chandrababu Naidu to explain his contributions to Andhra Pradesh, Amalapuram, and the Konaseema district during his 17-year tenure as Chief Minister. They remarked that while he claims to have attracted investments worth ₹23 lakh crore, no actual development is visible in Andhra Pradesh—only the impact of the coronavirus is evident. They urged that appropriate measures be taken to protect the public from the coronavirus. He noted that a debate is unfolding in Tamil Nadu questioning whether there is one standard of justice for Jayalalithaa and another for Jagan, given that the disproportionate assets case against Jagan has been under investigation for 16 years. He remarked that the public has become disillusioned with regional parties like the TDP and YCP. Chinta Mohan expressed confidence that the Congress party would come to power at both the Centre and in Andhra Pradesh in the 2029 elections.
