Visakhapatnam :Indian News Times:The first meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Central Government), Visakhapatnam, for the year 2026 was held on July 22, 2026, in the seminar hall of the Divisional Railway Manager's Office, Visakhapatnam, under the chairmanship of Shri Lalit Bohra, Divisional Railway Manager.
The meeting was attended by Shri Nirmal Dubey, Deputy Director (Implementation), Southern Regional Implementation Office, Bengaluru; Shri E. Shantaram, Additional Chief Official Language Officer; Mr. Narendra Kumar Singh, Secretary; as well as all members of the committee, including Heads of Offices, Official Language Officers, and other officials.
During the meeting, various matters related to the progressive use and promotion of the official language, Hindi, as well as its effective implementation in official work, were discussed in detail. Deliberations were also held to ensure necessary corrective and compliance-related actions, based on adherence to Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines and other suggestions and observations.
Further, three big offices namely 1. Visakhapatnam Divisional Railway Office, 2. Naval Science and Technology Laboratory Office, 3. 56th Battalion Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force Offices, which have done excellent work in the promotion of official language Hindi in their respective areas in the year 2025, have been awarded shields for securing first, second and third positions respectively. Also, three small offices namely Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Kendriya Vidyalaya/Waltair, Shields have been awarded to the offices of the Fishery Survey of India for securing the first, second, and third positions respectively. Additionally, fourteen other offices have been presented with appreciation shields to encourage their active participation in promoting the use of the Official Language, Hindi, within their respective jurisdictions.
During this meeting, the 14th issue of "Vishakha-Bharati"—the annual in-house magazine of TOLIC (Central Offices), Visakhapatnam—was released; the issue showcases the creative, literary, and cultural interests of the officers and employees of the member offices.
Deputy Director/Bengaluru suggested the formation of an executive committee to ensure 100% implementation of the official language Hindi in all central government offices and to emphasize on allocating all the work of TOLIC to other offices.
