GCC Receives Prestigious SKOCH Award 2025 in Tribal Welfare Category


GCC), Visakhapatnam, has been honored with the prestigious SKOCH Award 2025 in the Tribal Welfare category. The

award was presented at the SKOCH Award Ceremony held on 28.03.2026 in New

Delhi. On behalf of GCC, the Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Smt. S. S. Shobika,

On this occasion, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri Nara

Chandrababu Naidu garu has appreciated, the Hon'ble Minister for Tribal Welfare, Smt'

Gummadi Sandhya Rani garu and the Hon'ble Chairman of GCC, Sri Kidari Sravan

Kumar garu for getting the prestigious SKOCH Award-2025 to the Tribal Welfare

Business Opportunitics." GCC has been making significant efforts tou'ard the

der elopmeni and empowerment of tribal communities by ensuring fair market access

to tribal farmers, strengthening processing and marketing systems, and creating

employment opportunities for tribal women and youth'

As partbf its tribal welfare and livelihood development initiatives, GCC has been

implementing several key measures. It has established a transparent procuretnetrt

,yrt.t, for Minor Forcst Produce (MFP) under the Minimurn Support Price (MSl))

,th.-., thereby protecting tribal gatherers fiom exploitation by rniddlemen 

and

ensuring stable ir,.o*.. GCC is also strengthening Van Dhan Vikas Kendras 

(VDVKs)

and Van Dhan Producer Enterprise Societies (VDPES), providing skill development,

infrastructure, and value-added business opportunities, especially for tribal self-help

groups and women.

To expand market access lbr tribal products across the country, GCC is activcly

participating in exhibitions, trade fairs, and branding initiatives, enabling better

i..ognition and improved prices. Additionally, it is safeguarding tribal rights over fbrest

resources, pr.r".ring traditional livelihoods, and promoting sustainable harvesting

practices. Tiansparency and efficiency are being enhanced through digital payments, eauction systems, quality control, and technological monitoring in procurement and

processing activities.

This arvard has been conferred in recognition of GCC's efforts in ensttring tair

prices for tribal products and promoting cornprehensive development in tribal areas,

thereby enhancing tribal welfare and economic empowerment.

Expressing pride over receiving this prestigious award, GCC stated that it will
