Visakhapatnam, April 7, 2026:The HRAAP Inter Hotels Cricket League – 2026 began in Visakhapatnam this morning at the Indira Priyadarshini GVMC Cricket Stadium. The event was attended by a large number of distinguished guests and members of the hospitality industry.The event was inaugurated by Dr. Shankabrata Bagchi, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam City, as the chief guest. Shri G. Venkata Krishna, Joint Managing Director – Dasapalla Hotels, Vice President – Andhra Pradesh Star Hotels Association participated as the guest of honor.
Speaking at the event held on the occasion of World Health Day, the chief guest said that sports and physical fitness are very important in everyone’s life. He said that such cricket leagues not only improve health but also foster unity and team spirit among professionals. He congratulated HRAAP for organizing such a meaningful event.
Guest of Honour Shri G. Venkata Krishna said that this league has developed into an annual sports event that promotes camaraderie and healthy competition among hotels in the hospitality sector.
Shri M. V. Pawan Karthik, President – HRAAP, who presided over the event, welcomed the chief guests and all the participants and thanked the sponsors, partners, managing committee members and participating hotels for making the event a success.
General Secretary Shri Jayadeep Biswas, EC Members Dr. Prasanth, Shri R. Venkat Rao, Shri I.T. Ramakrishna, Vice President, Dolphin Hotels, General Managers and representatives of various hotels were present at the event.
A total of 19 hotel teams are participating in this league. It stands as one of the biggest sports events organized in the hospitality sector in the region.
The tournament trophies were unveiled at the event. Later, the Chief Guest conducted the toss. The national anthem “Jana Gana Mana” was sung at the beginning of the event and both the teams stood respectfully.
The first match of the tournament was played between Dasapalla Hotel and Meghalaya Hotel. The Chief Guest started the match by bowling the first ball and encouraged the players.
