Today, April 17, 2026, as part of the 'TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2.0' (TBMBA) initiative, the Hon'ble MLA for the Visakhapatnam North constituency, Sri Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu, officially unveiled promotional posters at his office.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA called upon all citizens to actively participate in this program to help realize the vision of a 'TB-Free India.' He urged the public to make the best use of this opportunity and advised that anyone experiencing symptoms such as a cough lasting longer than two weeks, fever, weight loss, loss of appetite, night sweats, fatigue, or blood-streaked sputum should immediately visit their nearest health center to undergo appropriate diagnostic tests.
Under the TBMBA 2.0 program, he specifically recommended that individuals with smoking habits, those over the age of 60, patients with diabetes, individuals with a history of TB infection, and those with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of less than 18 should undergo sputum and X-ray examinations for the diagnosis of Tuberculosis.
The District TB Control Officer, Dr. Ronanki Ramesh, along with his staff, participated in this event.
