Provide Building Facilities for the District Library Corporation: Vannemreddy Satish Kumar, Chairman, Visakhapatnam District Library Corporation.
The chairman of the joint Visakhapatnam District Library Association, Vannemreddy Satish Kumar, has requested that the District Library Association and the District Central Library, which serve thousands of students, unemployed youth and readers in Visakhapatnam, be provided with suitable building accommodation. To this end, Satish Kumar politely submitted a petition to VMRDA Chairman MV Pranav Gopal and Metropolitan Commissioner N Tej Bharat on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Satish Kumar explained the main problems faced by the district central library and the organization's office, saying that at present, the district central library and the organization's office are running in private rented buildings with inadequate facilities. He said that due to lack of sufficient space, it is difficult for valuable books to be stored and readers to sit and read. He said that at a time when Visakhapatnam is developing as an IT hub, there is a great need to set up a digital library equipped with cutting-edge technology in line with the changing times. As per government regulations, an area of about 5000 square feet has been allotted under the VMRDA. They said that they are ready to pay the fixed rent as per the Government GO (GO No. 37) if the building is allotted. Keeping in mind the future of the students in the city, they asked the VMRDA to respond positively to provide a suitable and peaceful environment for studying. Satish Kumar expressed hope on this occasion that the availability of a modern library building will further improve the academic skills of the students.
