Sri Sathya Sai Baba Aradhana Mahotsavam*

India is the sacred land of the Vedas
. Upon this soil, countless great souls have taken birth; they have illuminated the world and guided humanity on its path. Among them stands a radiant embodiment of light and a divine fount of inspiration—a figure truly unparalleled in history—Bhagavan Sathya Sai Baba. Sathya Sai was a magnificent soul who demonstrated that the essence of Indianness lies in its supreme spiritual glory, and that this land is, indeed, the abode of Divine Love.

As part of the observances marking His Aradhana Mahotsavam, it is a great privilege for us all to reflect upon and cherish His divine teachings. To perceive the visible world merely as the material world constitutes a practice of ordinary spiritual discipline. However, to recognize the world through the perspective of the Supreme Soul (Paramatma) represents a practice of extraordinary wisdom. One must firmly believe that the entire universe is, in essence, the very manifestation of the Supreme Soul.

In the worldview of the Indian people, there exists absolutely nothing that is not a manifestation of the Supreme Soul. Those who, in their ignorance, fail to grasp this sacred truth often mock Indians, ridiculing them for worshipping trees, anthills, hills, cows, serpents, and birds. Yet, we ought to regard this practice as a profound expression of the social justice we uphold.
