passenger convenience and strengthening rail connectivity in the region, the Humsafar Express connecting Srikakulam Road to the world-renowned Hindu pilgrimage destination, Tirupati, was flagged off for the first time at Srikakulam Road Railway Station.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shri K. Ram Mohan Naidu, Hon’ble Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India, in the august presence of Shri K. Ravi Kumar, Hon’ble MLA of Amudalavalasa; Shri G Shankar Hon'ble MLA Srikakulalm; Divisional Railway Manager Shri Lalit Bohra; District Collector Srikakulalam Shri Swapnil Dinakar and other distinguished dignitaries.
The introduction of Train No. 17440 Srikakulam Road – Tirupati Weekly Humsafar Express is expected to significantly benefit passengers from the region by providing improved connectivity to Tirupati, Vijayawada, and other intermediate destinations. This service has been introduced in response to the long-standing demand of the public and aligns with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble Minister of Railways to strengthen regional connectivity and promote the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
This new train service will greatly enhance access to pilgrimage, education, healthcare, employment, and trade opportunities, thereby acting as a catalyst for socio-economic growth in the region.
East Coast Railway is always committed to improving passenger amenities, enhancing connectivity, and responding proactively to public needs through such passenger-friendly initiatives.
SRIKAKULAM ROAD – TIRUPATI - SRIKAKULAM ROAD WEEKLY HUMSAFAR EXPRESS (TRAIN Nos. 17440 / 17439)
The Train No. 17440 Srikakulam Road – Tirupati Weekly Humsafar Express train will leave from Srikakulam Road on Mondays at15:00 hrs with effect from 13.04.2026 and will reach Duvvada on the same day at 17:58 hrs and departure at 18:00 hrs and will reach Tirupati at 08:10 hrs on Tuesday.
In the return direction, Train No. 17439 Tirupati - Srikakulam Road Weekly Humsafar Express train will leave from Tirupati on Sunday at 16:55 hrs with effect from 19.04.2026. The train will reach Duvvada on the next day (Monday) at 09.33 hrs and departure at 09.35 hrs and will reach Srikakulam Road at 12:30 hrs.
Composition: The pair of trains will consist of total 22 coaches, comprising: 3rd AC – 15, Pantry Car – 01, Sleeper Class coaches – 04, Generator Class cum Luggage Van – 02 coaches.
Stoppages: Chipurupalli, Vizianagaram, Kottavalasa, Pendurthi, Duvvada, Anakapalli, Elamanchili, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Tenali, Bapatla, Chirala, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur and Renigunta between Srikakulam Road – Tirupati stations both directions.
