In a significant step towards ensuring a comfortable and inclusive working environment, Waltair Division, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Shri Lalit Bohra, has initiated the provision of dedicated restrooms exclusively for women employees working at railway stations.
In the first phase, these facilities have been commissioned at Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, Simhachalam, and Parvatipuram stations. The initiative will be extended to other stations in a phased manner.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Lalit Bohra stated that the need for separate restrooms for women employees was identified during routine inspections.
Emphasizing the importance of supporting Nari Shakti and fostering a healthy and dignified work environment, he noted that the Division has taken a proactive decision to establish these facilities. He further added that while five stations have been covered in the initial phase, similar amenities will be provided at additional stations in the near future.
Women employees have expressed their appreciation for this thoughtful initiative. The restrooms are equipped with essential amenities such as seating arrangements, cots, toilet facilities, and washrooms, ensuring comfort and convenience for the staff.
