WORLD HEALTH DAY 2026 CELEBRATED AT DIVISIONAL RAILWAY HOSPITAL, WALTAIR*

Indian News Times :Visakhapatnam: Today, World Health Day 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Divisional Railway Hospital, Waltair, under the guidance of Dr. D. Sharath Babu. The event highlighted this year’s global theme, “Together for Health: Stand with Science,” emphasizing the importance of scientific innovation, global cooperation, and the One Health approach.


Lalit Bohra, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Smt Jyotsna Bohra President ECoRWWO, E. Santharam (ADRM/Infra) and K. Rama Rao (ADRM/Operations), along with branch officers, Executive members of the ECoR Women’s Welfare Organisation (ECORWWO), Waltair, and allied staff, were present at the programme.

The event featured an engaging health awareness session focusing on diet, nutrition, and physical activity. Dr. Rakesh Dubba, a renowned cardiologist from CARE Hospital, delivered an insightful lecture on health consciousness, the importance of regular physical activity, and effective diet management.

On this occasion, DRM Lalit Bohra and ECORWWO President Jyotsna Bohra jointly inaugurated several modern medical facilities at the Divisional Railway Hospital. These included a phaco machine, Boyle’s apparatus, a multiparameter patient monitor, as well as new computers and printers, significantly enhancing the hospital’s diagnostic and patient care capabilities. Vice President ECoRWWO Smt Gayatri Santharam and K. Rama Rao (ADRM/Operations) also inaugurated new medical equipments.
