Shri Kundu Rama Rao, ADRM Operations, Waltair Division, attended the closing ceremony of the “Beyond Sight Women’s Cricket Tournament for the Blind” as the Chief Guest at the Waltair Railway Cricket Ground.
Shri Kethan Patil, Assistant Sports Officer of Waltair Division, was also present during the occasion and encouraged the participating players for their outstanding sporting spirit and determination.
The tournament featured a three-match T20 series between the women’s blind cricket teams of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Andhra Pradesh emerged dominant in the series and took an unassailable lead of 2-0.
The event was organized by the Cricket Association for the Blind Andhra Pradesh with the support of Netra Vidyalaya and Waltair Division of East Coast Railway.
The tournament was conducted under the motto: “Inclusive Sports – Empowering Women through Sports.”The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and appreciation from sports lovers, railway officials, organizers, and supporters who gathered to encourage the players and celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship
