All Walkers Must Serve Collectively: Walkers Club Former International President Prabhavathi Walkers Club Celebrates 40 Years of Service at Sri Kala Grand, Amalapuram
Amalapuram: Indian News Times:The second Cabinet Meeting of District 103 was held at Sri Kala Grand in Amalapuram town, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District. The event was organized under the chairmanship of District 103 Governor Toleti Suryanarayana, with the support of the Sai Sanjeevani Women's Walkers Club and Deputy Governor Jalli Sujatha. Leaders from Walkers Clubs across three districts attended the gathering, with the former International President of the Walkers Club, Prabhavathi, serving as the chief guest. Marking the occasion of the Walkers Club completing 40 years of service by 2026, grand celebrations were held among the Governor and members, highlighted by the ceremonial cutting of a large cake. Speaking at the event, Prabhavathi noted that the Walkers Club currently boasts a membership of 500,000 individuals across 1,650 clubs; she emphasized that, through its continuous service delivery, the organization has steadily grown to achieve international stature. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Tholeti Suryanarayana stated that "Health is the Greatest Wealth"—emphasizing that no matter how much material wealth one possesses, it is all in vain without good health. He recalled that the Walkers Club was founded in Visakhapatnam in 1986 by the late Sunkara Alwardas, under the inspiring motto "Walk and Lead." Marking the completion of 40 glorious years by 2026, a massive rally was organized in Amalapuram under the leadership of the women walkers. Raising slogans such as "Health is the Greatest Wealth" and "Health Reigns Supreme Over All Riches," the participants marched to Sri Kasha Grounds, where they celebrated the club's 40th anniversary.
Earlier in the morning, under the aegis of the Walkers Health Club, Amalapuram DSP Prasad cut a cake and flagged off a bicycle rally. Speaking at the event, DSP Prasad urged everyone to engage in adequate physical exercise—in response to the government's call—to conserve fuel and safeguard their health. He noted that the Walkers Club was established precisely for this purpose and commended the organization for influencing the public through various service activities.
Regional Councilor M. Bhaskar Rao, Elect Governor M.S. Murthy, Deputy Governor Jalli Sujatha, T.V.V.S. Tilak Babu, Kodi Babji, Bonam Satyavara Prasad, Chief Coordinator Nagendra, Cabinet Secretary Malleswara Rao, Treasurer Veccha Nagasatya, Past Governor Sappa Nageswara Rao, Thethali Satyanarayana Reddy, Y.S.N. Murthy, Gurrala Amala, Bhavani, Manisha, Pushpa Sai, Sanjeevani, and other women walkers were among those who participated in the program.
