Alliance Government Crushes the Public Under the Weight of Price Hikes, Discarding Election Promises... YSRCP Cadres Stage Massive Protest Against Hike in Petrol and Diesel Prices... Memorandum Submitted to the Joint Collector...

Amalapuram | Visakha Sandesam...
Under the leadership of Amalapuram Constituency Coordinator Dr. Pinipé Srikanth, a massive protest was organized on Monday against the hike in petrol and diesel prices. Acting on the directives of former Andhra Pradesh

Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party Chief, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, a large-scale protest was held in Amalapuram to condemn the Alliance Government's unprecedented and exorbitant hike in petrol and diesel prices across the state. YSRCP leaders, party cadres, and workers from the transport sector participated in this protest in massive numbers. They staged a unique form of protest by pulling an auto-rickshaw with a rope. Demonstrating the intense public opposition—particularly among transport workers—to the rising prices, Constituency Coordinator Dr. Pinipé Srikanth personally pulled the auto-rickshaw with a rope, expressing his dissent in a novel manner. Slogans were raised on a large scale against the government's anti-people policies. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Srikanth noted that prior to the elections, the Telugu Desam Party had made grand promises in its manifesto—pledging to reduce petrol and diesel prices if voted to power. MLC Kudupudi Suryanarayana Rao demanded that the Alliance Government immediately roll back the hiked petrol and diesel prices.  Speaking on the occasion, MLC Bommi Israel lashed out at the coalition government, accusing it of completely abandoning its election promises after coming to power and crushing the people of the state by drastically hiking prices.

Former MP Chinta Anuradha stated that, compared to all other states in the country, petrol and diesel are currently being sold at the highest rates in Andhra Pradesh, thereby imposing an unbearable burden on common citizens and motorists. Subsequently, they met with the District Joint Collector and submitted a memorandum requesting the immediate reduction of the hiked petrol and diesel prices.

Representatives from the transport sector, YSRCP leaders, supporters, and party cadres participated in this protest program in large numbers.
