Congratulations to Team South Coast Railway and the People of Andhra Pradesh on a Historic Milestone*

The commencement of operations of the South Coast Railway Zone at Visakhapatnam marks the fulfillment of a *long-cherished dream* and the realization of an aspiration that has inspired generations of Telugu people.

On this momentous occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the entire South Coast Railway team, the Government of India, the Government of Andhra Pradesh, public representatives, railway employees, and above all, the people of Andhra Pradesh whose unwavering *determination and collective voice* kept this demand alive for more than a decade.

The establishment of the South Coast Railway Zone is far more than an *administrative reorganization* . 

It symbolizes justice, recognition, and the fulfillment of an assurance made during the reorganization of Andhra Pradesh in 2014. 

What began as a promise has today become a vibrant reality. The journey from *aspiration to achievement* was marked by persistence, patience, and sustained advocacy by citizens, leaders, and institutions committed to securing the *rightful place* of Andhra Pradesh in India's railway map.

The choice of *Visakhapatnam* as the headquarters of India's 18th Railway Zone carries immense significance. A city known for its *maritime* strength, industrial growth, and strategic importance will now emerge as a major railway administration and *logistics hub* . 

The new zone is expected to bring faster decision-making, improved passenger services, accelerated infrastructure development, enhanced freight movement, and *better connectivity* across the state.

With four divisions—Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, and Guntakal—under its ambit, the South Coast Railway Zone has the potential to transform *transportation, trade* , and regional development. The zone will strengthen connectivity to ports, industrial corridors, emerging economic centers, and tourism destinations while creating new opportunities for employment and investment.
