District Mining Officials Conduct Midnight Raids on the Coast JCB and Two Tippers Seized for Illegal Sand Mining

Allavaram | Visakha Sandesham.
..District mining officials conducted midnight raids targeting illegal sand mining operations along the coast of Komaragiri Patnam in Allavaram Mandal.

Upon reaching the coastal areas of Komaragiri Patnam where illegal sand extraction was taking place, officials seized a JCB machine actively engaged in mining and imposed a penalty of ₹2 lakhs. Additionally, they seized two tipper trucks that were illegally transporting sand excavated from the Komaragiri Patnam coast and handed them over to the Allavaram Police Station. The mining officials carried out these midnight raids acting on precise intelligence. An anonymous individual played a pivotal role in the operation by providing the officials with accurate, real-time updates via phone. The District Mining Officials intervened and conducted the raids after Mandal-level authorities failed to take action, despite a series of articles highlighting the illegal sand mining in the Komaragiri Patnam coastal area appearing in various newspapers over the past month. Following the officials' raids, the vehicle owners abandoned their tippers on the spot and fled the scene, attempting to conceal themselves from the authorities.
