The prestigious DRM Cup Table Tennis Tournament – 2026 commenced today, 09th May 2026, at the Railway Indoor Stadium, Visakhapatnam under the aegis of the East Coast Railway Sports Association, Waltair Division. The two-day tournament will continue till 10th May 2026 and has brought together talented table tennis players from across the country. Divisional Railway Manager Shri Lalit Bohra inaugurated the event in the august presence of President ECoR Women’s Welfare Organisation Smt Jyotsna Bohra.
The championship has received an overwhelming response with participation from 17 teams representing various states. A total of 51 players are competing in the tournament, making it one of the prominent table tennis events being organized in the region.
Adding further prestige to the tournament, several national-level medalists are participating, ensuring high-quality and thrilling matches throughout the event. Teams from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Chandigarh and other states are taking part in the mixed team championship.
The tournament is being conducted under the supervision of eminent technical officials. Sri Vishu, National India Team Coach, is officiating as the Chief Referee, while Sri Chalapathi, an internationally certified Blue Badge Umpire, is serving as the Tournament Umpire.
The organizing committee has made elaborate arrangements for the successful conduct of the tournament, including accommodation, refreshments, officiating arrangements, and attractive cash prizes for the winning teams.
Sports enthusiasts, railway employees, and members of the public are invited to witness the exciting matches and encourage the participating players during the two-day sporting extravaganza.
