Dr. C.M. Ramesh—Chairman of the Standing Committee on Railways and Member of Parliament for Anakapalli—expressed his views regarding the Central Government's issuance of a Gazette notification clarifying the jurisdiction of the South Coast Railway (SCoR) Zone.  Mr. Ramesh expressed his delight, describing this as a historic moment marking the fulfillment of a long-cherished aspiration of the people of Andhra Pradesh. Speaking on this occasion, he extended special gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership and to the Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, for his proactive initiative, noting that this decision was made possible solely through their efforts. He further emphasized that this historic decision, announced today, is a testament to the unwavering determination of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who worked tirelessly—engaging effectively with the Central Government—to ensure that the promise enshrined in the Reorganization Act was finally translated into reality. He stated that the establishment of the South Coast Railway Zone, headquartered in Visakhapatnam, provides the state with its own independent railway administrative framework—a development that stands as a pivotal turning point in the trajectory of Andhra Pradesh's development. He noted that the official commencement of operations for this zone on the 1st of next month—June 1st—will herald a new era in the state's transportation sector. He added that this new railway zone would not only accelerate the development of railway infrastructure within the state but also lead to the creation of new railway lines, the introduction of additional train services, and the generation of extensive employment opportunities for the youth.  He expressed optimism that this decision would contribute to the development of Visakhapatnam as a prominent railway hub in the country. He explained that this zone would be immensely beneficial for railway development within the Anakapalli Parliamentary constituency, specifically by accelerating the modernization of stations, the approval of new projects, and the improvement of connectivity. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Central Government, the State Government, public representatives, and everyone who had fought for this cause for years, for their role in realizing this historic decision.
