 Visakhapatnam Indian News Times Today, on May 18, 2026, on the occasion of World Hypertension Day, a special medical camp was organized at the Visakhapatnam District Collectorate office. The camp was conducted under the supervision of Dr. P. Jagadeeswara Rao, District Medical and Health Officer, and in the presence of the Honorable Joint Collector, Ms. G. Vidyadhari, IAS. Organized under the aegis of the District Medical and Health Department, this event featured the participation of three medical teams, which conducted blood pressure screenings for the Collectorate staff as well as for members of the public attending the PGRS program.

On this occasion, the medical teams raised awareness regarding the health complications associated with high blood pressure, the precautionary measures to be adopted, and the necessity of undergoing regular blood pressure check-ups. They offered practical advice, such as reducing salt intake, engaging in physical exercise, managing mental stress, and maintaining a balanced diet.

A large number of people—including Collectorate officials, staff members, and citizens attending the PGRS program—participated in the event and availed themselves of the health screenings. Officials stated that such awareness programs, aimed at safeguarding public health, would continue to be organized regularly under the auspices of the District Medical and Health Department.

Participants in this event included Dr. K. Apparao (District Coordinator, NTR Vaidya Seva Trust), Dr. B. Harika (District Coordinator, RBSK), and other healthcare personnel.
