Jagan relying on political theatrics to divert attention from governance, says Palla Srinivasa Rao*_
Amaravati, :Indian News Times:May 23:* Telugu Desam Party State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao launched a scathing attack on YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that the former Chief Minister had built his politics around “falsehood, vendetta, and calculated disruption.”
Palla Srinivasa Rao alleged that Mr. Jagan’s periodic press conferences were intended solely to divert public attention from the coalition government’s development and welfare initiatives, which, he said, were receiving an increasingly positive response across the State.
“Every few months, Mr. Jagan appears before the media to create political noise and sustain a narrative detached from ground realities,” Mr. Srinivasa Rao remarked.
*‘Unable to accept Andhra Pradesh’s developmental progress’*
Highlighting recent economic and administrative measures undertaken by the coalition government, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said Andhra Pradesh had succeeded in attracting major investments from companies such as Carrier and Royal Enfield, besides securing momentum in the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) ecosystem. He also referred to the commencement of SAEL’s operations, the release of the State job calendar, and recruitment notifications issued for vacancies in universities.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao further noted that the government’s announcement of a ₹1 lakh crore horticulture hub for Rayalaseema reflected a clear commitment towards balanced regional development and long-term economic growth.
“At a time when Andhra Pradesh is moving decisively on the path of development, Mr. Jagan appears unable to reconcile himself to the changing political and administrative landscape,” Mr. Srinivasa Rao said, adding that the former Chief Minister was attempting to sustain relevance through “hours of unsubstantiated allegations and political dramatisation.”
Questioning the YSRCP government’s record during its five-year tenure, Mr. Srinivasa Rao alleged that the previous administration had failed to create any lasting developmental infrastructure or institutional reforms.
“For a leader under whose administration politics of vendetta, factional hostility, and emotional exploitation became commonplace to now portray himself as a protector of the State is profoundly ironic,” Mr. Srinivasa Rao observed.
He further stated that the electorate had already delivered its verdict against what he termed “politics rooted in revenge and divisive narratives,” referring to the YSRCP being reduced to 11 Assembly seats. “The people have demonstrated that they can clearly distinguish between governance that builds public confidence and politics that thrives on confrontation,” Mr. Srinivasa Rao said.
*Questions over changing narrative in Vivekananda Reddy murder case*
Referring to the murder case of former Minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, Mr. Srinivasa Rao alleged that the shifting stand adopted by Mr. Jagan had raised serious public questions.
“Was it not Mr. Jagan who initially described the incident as a cardiac arrest? Was it not the YSRCP that later attempted to advance a political narrative around the case? And was it not Mr. Jagan himself who demanded a CBI investigation?” Mr. Srinivasa Rao asked.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao questioned why no conclusive clarity had emerged during the five years the YSRCP remained in power. He alleged that renewed attempts to link the case to TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu reflected “anxiety over the eventual emergence of facts.”
*‘People have moved beyond feudal political culture’*
Mr. Srinivasa Rao also accused the YSR family of historically engaging in what he described as “emotion-centric politics rooted in personal tragedy,” and alleged that the same political culture continued under Mr. Jagan’s leadership.
“The State is governed by the Constitution of India drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, not by feudal impulses or personalised political doctrines,” Mr. Srinivasa Rao said.
He asserted that voters in Andhra Pradesh had become increasingly aware and politically discerning, adding that the public was no longer willing to endorse “dynastic emotionalism or faction-driven politics.”
Concluding his remarks, Mr. Srinivasa Rao claimed that the people of Andhra Pradesh were prepared to deliver a “decisive and enduring political rejection” to Mr. Jagan in the 2029 Assembly elections.
