NARWA (NGGOs Area Residents' Welfare Association) Residents' Meeting

 


Visakhapatnam : Indian News Times ,May 17, A meeting of the residents and well-wishers of the NGGOs Colony in Akkayyapalem was successfully held under the aegis of NARWA (NGGOs Area Residents' Welfare Association) on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at the GVMC High School premises in Akkayyapalem, Visakhapatnam.

Approximately 30 participants—including residents, senior citizens,  public representatives, employees, women members, youth, and social activists—took part in this meeting and discussed various civic, developmental, and welfare issues pertaining to the locality.

The residents expressed concern regarding the need to improve essential civic amenities within the colony; these include:


 Adequate sanitation and sewage drainage systems  Construction and maintenance of public toilets  Road repairs and development of internal infrastructure  Street lighting and public safety measures  Drinking water supply and hygiene  Preservation of public spaces and greenery  Improved coordination with civic authorities for the timely resolution of issues

During the discussions, the members unanimously resolved to strengthen the collective platform for the residents and to initiate measures to officially establish and register the "Akkayyapalem Colony NGGOs Residents' Welfare Association."  It was also resolved to constitute an ad-hoc committee comprising 15 members who possess the willingness and commitment to dedicate their time and effort to organizational activities, coordination with government departments, and colony welfare initiatives.


Participants in the meeting emphasized that, with the objective of fostering civic responsibility, social harmony, environmental awareness, and the well-being of all residents, this association should function in a non-partisan, inclusive, and community-oriented manner.



The residents appealed to officials from the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and other relevant departments to extend the necessary support for the improvement of infrastructure and civic amenities in the area.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to all the participants who demonstrated active involvement and commitment toward the development and welfare of the NGGOs Colony.
