Puttaparthi will now play a key role in defence of Bharath: A New Chapter begins*

Puttaparthi: Indian News Times:May 15, 2026 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri. N. Chandrababu Naidu, Defence Minister of India Sri Rajnath Singh, and Minister Sri Nara Lokesh visited Puttaparthi for the grand launch of the AMCA (Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft) project and other major defence initiatives.

With an investment of ₹15,803 crores, over a 250+ acres of land procured for the first phase of this project , on the south side of Swami's airport, the project is expected to generate more than 7,500 jobs in first phase and transform the region into a major Defence & Drone manufacturing hub for the nation, marking a significant milestone for the development of Puttaparthi and the surrounding region.
