Allavaram: Indian News Times:May17 on the occasion of National Dengue Day, an awareness program featuring a rally focused on dengue prevention was organized in Bendamurlanka, Allavaram Mandal, under the aegis of the local Primary Health Centre (PHC). The event aimed to educate the public regarding the symptoms of dengue fever, its mode of transmission, and the necessary preventive measures. Participants in the rally were urged to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings.
Speaking at the event, medical professionals noted that the dengue virus is primarily transmitted by mosquitoes that bite during the daytime. They advised people to consult a doctor immediately if they observe symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle pain, pain behind the eyes, or skin rashes. They emphasized the importance of ensuring that water does not stagnate in the vicinity of homes, recommending that items such as coolers, buckets, discarded tires, and coconut shells be cleaned once a week to prevent water accumulation. Furthermore, they cautioned against self-medication and advised seeking professional medical advice instead. The medical staff appealed to all citizens to actively participate in the collective effort to prevent dengue.
The event was attended by Medical Officer Surya Nagesh, Supervisor N.L.V. Ranganath, Staff Nurse Durga Bhavani, Pharmacist Pushpa Satya, Lab Technician Swami, Health Assistants Vinay and Satyanarayana, as well as ANMs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwives) and ASHA workers from neighboring areas.
