Resolve Railway Issues Within the Tirupati Parliamentary Constituency* *Expedite Measures for Establishing a Permanent NIELIT Campus in Tirupati* *MP Gurumoorthy Meets Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw*
Tirupati. Indian News Times: Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumoorthy met with Union Minister for Railways, Electronics, and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, in New Delhi to seek the Central Government's assistance in resolving pending railway issues within the Tirupati parliamentary constituency, as well as in developing the sectors of digital education and cyber research. During the meeting, he requested the resolution of various railway-related issues pertaining to the Tirupati, Renigunta, and Gudur regions.
The MP requested that the Renigunta Railway Station be developed into a major terminal equipped with modern amenities, and asked for the allocation of special funds for this purpose. He emphasized the need to establish improved passenger amenities, parking facilities, and cargo services. He also requested that the final phase of works on the Srikalahasti–Nadikudi railway line be expedited.
He brought to the Minister's attention the request to extend the Simhapuri Express service from Gudur to Tirupati, noting that such an extension would be immensely beneficial to the residents, students, and employees of Nellore district. Furthermore, he requested the speedy commencement of expansion works for the Ambedkar Nagar underpass in Gudur, and asked for the provision of train stoppages for the Krishna Express, Puri Express, and Tirumala Express at the Vendodu railway station. He also emphasized the urgent need for the construction of a foot overbridge at the Tirupati West Railway Station.
MP Gurumoorthy stated that NIELIT would play a pivotal role in transforming Tirupati into a national-level hub for digital education and cybersecurity. He requested the expedited acquisition of the land proposed for the establishment of a permanent NIELIT campus near the Tirupati Airport. He further appealed for the sanctioning of funds amounting to at least ₹300 crores to set up modern laboratories, research centers, hostels, and innovation hubs.
Additionally, he requested that the Central Government extend its full support to the project proposed by Sri Venkateswara University titled "Centers of Excellence for Policy, Law, and Technical Research in Cyberspace." MP Gurumoorthy noted that Tirupati possesses the potential to emerge as a major hub for cyber research and digital innovation, and that a positive response from the Centre would significantly contribute to regional development.
