SBI Bank Employees Stage 'Silent Protest' in Amalapuram... "We Will Resort to Strike if Issues Are Not Resolved": Ganesh

Amalapuram | Indian News Times
...At the Clock Tower Center in Amalapuram town, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District, employees from State Bank branches across all mandals in the district gathered under the aegis of the All India State Bank Employees' Federation. Responding to a call issued by General Secretary Comrade L. Chandrasekhar, the employees arrived at the Clock Tower Center, displayed placards listing their demands, and—with black ribbons tied across their mouths—staged a 'silent protest' (Mouna Deeksha) until 2:00 PM.

Subsequently, Y. Ganesh, Regional Secretary of the State Bank Staff Union (Amalapuram), addressed the gathering of comrades. He noted that this silent protest was being conducted nationwide to press for the resolution of various issues. These issues—totaling 16 demands—include the recruitment of messengers and guards, career progression opportunities, a review of existing schemes, the resolution of HRMS-related grievances, the redressal of pensioners' concerns, the cessation of outsourcing for permanent positions, and the resolution of staff shortages within the banks. Ganesh warned the State Bank management that they must resolve these demands immediately; otherwise, the employees would definitely resort to strike action on the 25th and 26th of the month.  Expressing solidarity on behalf of the Pensioners' Association and receiving support from the Konaseema Bank Employees Coordination Committee, a large number of comrades—both men and women—participated in this program.
