Visakhapatnam: Indian News Times 30May, Shri Y. Balaji Kiran, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of the 2013 batch, has been assumed addition charge as the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of South Coast Railway.
In addition to this responsibility, Shri Balaji Kiran is serving as Deputy General Manager-cum-Secretary to General Manager, South Coast Railway, since November 2025. Having vast experience traffic commercial in Indian Railways, he has held several important assignments, viz Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Guntakal Division, and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager at Secunderabad and Hyderabad Divisions.
Shri Balaji Kiran did his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science Engineering from Sri Kalahasteeswara Institute of Technology (SKIT), Srikalahasti. He also earned an MBA from Osmania University and a Master's degree in Political Science and Industrial Relations.
A native of Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh, Shri Balaji Kiran is known for his commitment to social service and youth development. He is the founder of the NGO “Asaya” in Naidupeta and has actively contributed to community welfare initiatives. Before joining the Civil Services, he worked as a Software Engineer in Singapore. He also served as Director of Sri Chaitanya IAS Academy, Delhi, where he mentored numerous Civil Services aspirants.
With his rich administrative experience, professional expertise, and strong communication skills, Shri Y. Balaji Kiran is expected to further strengthen public outreach and media relations for South Coast Railway.
