Visakhapatnam :Indian News Times: 2 June VMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner, Sri N. Tej Bharat, IAS, has directed officials to ensure that the construction of key roads connecting the Bhogapuram Airport is completed within the scheduled timeframe. As the Bhogapuram International Airport gears up for its inauguration next month, he issued orders to take necessary measures to bring the Master Plan roads into operational use by the 25th of this month. On Tuesday, he held a meeting at the VMRDA conference hall with officials from the Planning, Engineering, GVMC, National Highways (NH), and Roads & Buildings departments, as well as representatives from GMR. Speaking on the occasion, he directed that priority be given to developing the junctions connecting these road construction corridors—particularly those linking to National Highways—and to installing directional signage along these routes. He further ordered the installation of clearly visible signboards along the roads to ensure that air travelers commuting from the city to the airport via these major routes can reach their destination on time and without encountering any obstacles. He suggested that roadmaps be prepared to facilitate rapid access to the airport for both city residents and travelers arriving from other regions, and called for extensive publicity regarding these routes to ensure travelers are well-informed. He also conducted a comprehensive, point-by-point review of the ongoing road construction works. Additional Commissioner Smt. Datla Keerthi, Chief Engineer Sri Vinay Kumar, OSD Krishna Naik, Superintending Engineers Madhusudhana Rao and Sri Rambabu, Chief Planning Officer Smt. Divya Latha, Executive Engineers Sri Sudheer, Sri Durga Prasad, and Sri Ramaraju, along with officials and staff from other departments, participated in the program.
